# The Reveal

How will Mothy’s reveal at the campsite go?

Since it’s a campsite, and they’ll most certainly have a loud reaction, someone will probably check on them. It would be a good moment to give Luna and Mothy a moment together while Mothy hides.

### Dramatic Take

Shaking in anticipation, Mothy will warn the others that they’re going to approach the campsite.
They’ll text the group chat something like: “I’m coming clean: I’m actually a cryptid, you’re gonna see a giant moth, that’s me. I won’t hurt you I promise. Please don’t freak out. This isn’t a joke.” But it’d be hard to take that seriously and properly prepare for it.

When they’re finally seen, Mothy waves and stands still, trying to seem non-threatening. They use their phone TTS to say “Hello, I’m Mothy”.
Since Jayce is afraid of bugs, they scream and run. Brandon shouts “MONSTER!” and backs away, probably thinking that he wish he had a weapon.
Alex will run to attend to Jayce. Luna will be frozen, just staring with a shocked expression.

Mothy will be devastated by this reaction. They run back into the woods, and curl up in a ball to hyperventilate. They’re worried they’ve ruined everything and lost their only friends.
They text the group chat. “I’m sorry - I’m so stupid - I fucked it all up - I’m such a freak - I’m so sorry”

Luna after recovering and deliberating decides to follow Mothy into the woods. She finds them keening while curled up in a ball, and is unsure how to approach. Keeping her distance, she asks if they’re really Mothy, and they react fearfully, taking a moment to compose themself before nodding. Luna isn’t sure what to say, and after a moment comments on how a lot of things about Mothy suddenly make sense now. Mothy uses the TTS on their phone to apologize and promise not to hurt anyone. They show Luna the plushie she gifted them. She carefully approaches and takes the plushie. After a moment of deliberation, she apologizes, and offers a hug. Mothy slowly steps forward and hugs her delicately, keening again.

After Jayce calms down and sees the messages Mothy left in the chat after running off, they feel like a massive hypocrite, and a lot of what Mothy has said in the past starts to make sense. They vent this to Alex. Brandon is incredibly conflicted, and says something blunt like “Are we really gonna let a monster near us?” and gets into an argument with Alex and Jayce. Luna texts the group “I’m with Mothy. I’m fine. They were really fucked up, but I think they’re doing better.”

Someone comes to check on the campers, having heard the screams. Jayce claims there’s nothing to worry about, it was just a very unfunny prank. Brandon looks like he’s about to say something, but Jayce and Alex glare at him.
Alex texts the group chat “Someones heard our commotion and came to check on us, might wanna wait before coming back.”

Mothy tries their best to remain composed, but is unable to hold back all of their emotions. It’s probably possible to fully prepare to have your only friends be so scared.
